A love of dogs knows no boundaries, Black Rock vet Dr Michael Heath says. Which is why he is part of an organisation helping canines in far-flung places such as India.
As well as running the Black Rock Animal Hospital in Balcombe Rd, Dr Heath is part of the Bayside branch of Vets Beyond Borders.
They are raising money to fun a clinic to combat rabies, parvo virus and distemper in the southern Indian region of Bylakuppe.
Recent events include an Indian supper and auction which has made $11,000 and drawn several more volunteers to the cause.
Dr Heath said street dog disease were also a problem for humans. He will return next month and more fundraising events will be held.
