Dr Jo teaching in China

Our super talented vet Dr Joanna has been travelling to China with the Vets For Compassion team. VFC have been training Chinese vets in better surgery techniques for several years. On their recent trip in March Joanna accompanied them to Hangzhou and was responsible for demonstrating best practise dentistry techniques . Proper dentistry with X-rays , general anaesthetics, tooth evaluation and extractions has been part of our work at EBVC and Joanna is spreading the news.
Joanna is also a an excellent surgeon and honed her desexing skills when she worked at the Lost Dogs Home.
In these pictures she is instructing the Chinese vets on proper sterilisation, draping and surgery skills.
We are very proud to have such a hard working and caring vet who is willing and capable of helping others on our staff.
Dr Elaine Ong of VFC said of Joanna: “she certainly is a gem. Quiet but respectful and hardworking. Thanks again for loaning her to me! The Chinese vets love her teaching… they can communicate with her quite well”.
See www.vetsforcompassion.org for more and follow them on Facebook .
Last year Joanna was the vet instructing the Melbourne Uni Vet students on desexing during an indigenous community dog program in Gippsland.
