Emergency!

Late one Friday night the EBVC was presented with a strange case of vomiting. The older boxer dog patient seemed calm but was repeatedly trying to vomit.

EBVC is equipped with superb Xray and Endoscopic facilities.

We could use our equipment to immediately take Xrays of her stomach. We always check the chest and neck as well in vomiting cases, and this is where we found  massive HIP JOINT BONE wedged in the top of the oesophagus.

Marlie’s owner had seen her scavanging some thing but wasn’t sure what it was.

Our Xray showed us, and with our scope we were able to extract it under general anaesthesia. Drama solved in about 30minutes.
