Nicole and Farlie flew into Kolkata ( formerly Calcutta) then travelled by overnight train, then a 5-hour jeep ride to the Capital of Sikkim, Gangtok.
Gangtok is built into the Himalayan hillside and is where the SARAH team is based. This is where they will start their de-sexing of street dog work. From here mobile vet teams venture out to the villages of Sikkim to do “field work”.
Dr Farlie’s husband is an electrician and will be spending his time rewiring the SARAH hospital. Having a plumbing license means that he may also be able to control the leaky pipes too! He will be assisted by Nicole’s boyfriend, Daniel.
